BIOGRAPHY

Marcello Billeri: he is a former professional basketball player at a high level, before starting his career as a coach at the young age of 30. Over the years he’s gained training experiences in the USA and in Balkan countries. In Italy he began to work as head coach with the Empoli team, with which he has been all around Italy coaching in the A1, A2 and B1 Leagues. Furthermore he has worked over the years with Mens Sana Siena, Montecatini, Riva del Garda, Virtus Siena Virtus, Latina and Pistoia.

He has a strong inclination to empower young athletes, by teaching them the fundamentals of basketball. He has been a talent scout and has played a key role in raising several generations of players ... some of whom reached the highest national and international levels such as Mario Boni, Andrea Niccolai, Massimo Iacopini, Guido Rosselli, Cesare Amabili, Fiorello Toppo, Emanuele Rossi, just to name a few.

After his the long experience in the A League in Pistoia, he has gone back to train young athletes following his passion and leading the project of the Agliana basketball, pairing up with the team’s President Simone Caramelli who had been his former trainee in the youth league Mens Sana Siena.
