BIOGRAPHY

Fabio Bongi: He is a serious and experienced coach who keeps himself professionally updated, and is in a network of Italian, European and American Coaches. He has a deep understanding of the Italian and European market and he is a pillar of the Pistoia team. He has been collaborating for many years as a trainer for the Italian Basketball Federation.

His career was launched in 1998 in the Pistoia Basketball Youth sector where he has worked until the 2002/2003 season. Then he was promoted to Pistoia’s main basketball team, working first as an assistant and then as Head Coach, leading the team from C2 to B1 League. In 2006 he became the head of both the Men and Women Youth sector of Basket Cervia/Cesenatico, getting rewarding results. In 2007 and 2008 he coached the Women La Spezia Basketball Club in A1 League, as head of the Youth sector and Assistant of the first team.

Since 2008 he has returned to Pistoia Basket in the Men's A2 League, giving his contribution as an Assistant Physical Trainer to the team’s upgrade into the A League. This current season, despite the team’s setback in A2 League, he decided to continue to work with it, showing a great loyalty to the Pistoia-based company, after the manager’s decision to step down to A2. His level of English is advanced.
